If you’re a serious gamer or nuclear fission simulation specialist, you’ll love Intel’s newest experimental multi-core CPU. Like its previously announced 48 core cousin, this 50 core behemoth of multi-threaded processing power is being dubbed a single chip cloud computer processor. Based on 22nm process technology, specially designed software will need to be developed to utilize the CPU’s full potential. But mainstream developers don’t have to worry about incorporating facilities for 50 cores of parallel processing into their newest projects. Intel hasn’t announced a release date for “Knights Corner,” the chip’s code name. Let’s just hope they follow up any release with a “How It’s Made” video.
