Remember when Intel announced plans to manufacture 32nm processors under the codename Westmere? That was great news for those seeking powerful CPU architectures that sip energy. And despite the ubiquity of CPUs and the computers they drive, most people neither know nor care how these technological wonders are manufactured. For the rest of us, Intel has assembled a slideshow titled “Making of a Chip: 32nm High-K Metal Gate Process Technology”. It’s interesting stuff…really.
