I saw this today and thought it deserved a mention.  For anyone who has watched in horror as the wings of the airplane in which you were flying violently bent and vibrated through an extreme patch of turbulence, this should reassure you on future flights.  This is the wing bending test of Boeing’s 787 “Dreamliner”.  Needless to say, it passed – although if you do ever observe the wings of the airplane on which you’re flying deflect this severely, you’re likely in the midst of other, more severe problems.
