This might be the coolest computer monitor ever. And although we’ve seen some creative ways to expand a monitor’s viewing area, none are literally as seamless as this. The Ostendo CRVD is a 43″ diagonal LCD display that gently curves across its viewable area, wrapping the user in content. The monitor’s 2880×900 native resolution doesn’t require a special graphics card and its single DVI-D or HDMI input is actually simpler to set up than most other multi-monitor solutions. Obviously a gamer’s dream display (see the video below), the Ostendo CRVD has some serious potential uses in the medical and financial industries. But at $6500, setting up two displays side by side is obviously cheaper. And while the CRVD is not quite as portable as these Vuzix glasses, it definitely wins in a coolness contest.
