Looking for a pocket video recorder but don’t want to spend $200 for a high end, high definition JVC PICSIO? Vivitar, looking to expand into this growth market, is now marketing its DVR 150 pocket camcorder for just under $50 bucks. Despite its price, the DVR 150 actually has a few cool features not found in other models, including an IR night vision mode and an underwater case, both giving users the unique ability to film fish at depths of up to 5 meters in the dark!
The device has a 1.8″ screen and 2GB of built in memory expandable via an SD memory card slot. The unstabilized 8X digital zoom should guarantee both grainy and shaky shots, so like all digital zooms, its use must be limited. Once you fill up the memory, offload the files via USB and start again.
