Cell Phone Radiation Database

cellphoneHow dangerous is cell phone radiation?  That question has been asked, studied, debated, re-asked, dismissed, researched some more, diced, chopped, souffled, and served so many times in recent years that it’s easy to understand why most people have become numb to  its “flavor of the day” standing.  And since cell phones are going to be around for at least a little while longer, I suspect the radiation debate will parasitically live on without conclusion for a very long time.

Cell phones emit electromagnetic radiation.   That’s how they transmit information to the nearby cell phone tower, an important link in the chain that makes wireless communications possible.  And electromagnetic radiation, at certain levels, is harmful.  While the FCC specifies a specific absorption rate (SAR) limit of 1.6W/kg, even this is under active debate.

A new database as been compiled and lists SAR data on over 1000 cell phones.  The site lists the best and worst phones in addition to being searchable for a specific model of phone.  Check it out and search for your phone…the results may surprise you!
