Logitech Z520 Sound System Gets The Party Started

Logitech’s Z520 speaker system once again proves the old adage: good things come in small packages. The Z520 and little brother-esque Logitech Z320 speakers are designed for use with notebooks and small desktop computers, and deliver omnidirectional sound for an excellent listening experience all the way around. The speakers are designed to provide a more even sound distribution that is less prone to distortions that occur when the listener moves around the room.

The Z520/Z320s are just 9 inches tall and have a base size of 6.5 inches. In addition, these powered speakers feature an auxiliary input jack that enables you to plug in your iPod without having to disconnect your computer system. You’ll also find a headphone jack for those times when you want to keep your sound all to yourself. The speakers feature a frequency response of 20Hz-70Hz and feature a power output of 26W (Z520) and 10W (Z320). The Z520/Z320s are compatible with Windows XP, Windows Vista and Mac OS X 10.3.9 or better. The Z520s retail for about $130 and the Z320s can be had for about $60.

The Logitech Z523 and Logitech Z323 also employ the omnidirectional acoustic design with a subwoofer thrown in. If you’re looking for a powerful listening experience, the Z523 has a power output of 40 watts. If that’s a bit too much, try the Z323 speakers with a power output of 30 watts. $100 says the Z523s will go home with you. For a cheaper date, you can have the Z323s for about $70.
